We came across The Mobility Physio when a friend of ours recommended Nadia after hearing that we was looking for a physio who could work well with people who suffer from dementia and could help us care for our elderly mother.
Mums mobility was an issue as she also has a prosthetic lower leg, which she has historically suffered from irritations to the skin of the remaining stump preventing her from using the prosthesis and keeping mobile. Likewise without support was not able to manage the fitment and use of the leg unaided.
It was never going to be an easy one as we knew that with the level of dementia our mother has that this was not going to be a case of leave her with a few exercises of her own to get on with in her own time, likewise communication with her can be a bit hit and miss as to if she realises what you are saying and want her to do.
The combination of Nadia’s expertise in working with both animals and people seems to fit perfectly to this situation, and she has shown us over the last 6 months of working with our mother just how effective her approach can be. Clearly there are some transferable skills here. Nadia has been a god send, and not just kept to the physio side of things. She has ensured that the skin condition is kept under control meaning the prosthesis can me used more often.
In visiting the care home Nadia has helped us in making sure that mums overall well being is well catered for, and ensured that both our family and care home staff are kept well informed of what she has done and how we can all work with her to keep mum as mobile as possible. Nadia has shown such a caring nature in her work with our mum and has turned her hand to various aspects of care provided whilst with her. She has developed a great relationship with our mum who responds well to treatment, and knows when at times its best to leave mum and try again later with positive results each time.
We are extremely grateful to both our friend who made the recommendation and to Nadia for the care and support given.

At two weeks’ notice my active and independent 83-year-old mum who lives alone, underwent surgery for cancer followed by six-weeks in hospital including a week in intensive care. During this time my mum became frail and her mobility and confidence deteriorated beyond recognition. We were recommended the Mobility Physio and I contacted Nadia when we were trying to arrange discharge and work out how we were going to meet my mum’s very changed needs.
It had become apparent that state support post hospital would be limited to personal care for 6 weeks and physio would be require a GP referral, a wait and would be delivered via phone. I’d had no former experience of caring for an older person and from our first conversation I felt reassured by Nadia’s experience and expertise and confident that her team would be able to help us. My mum who was very shaken and nervous came to stay with me and received physiotherapy at home over around an eight-week period (initially twice a week and tapering off) this culminated with a visit to my mum’s home to see how she would cope in her own house and garden. I can’t thank Nadia and her team enough for care and support they provided to help restore my mum to her former self.
They were professional, supportive, compassionate and above all made an effort to properly understand and connect with my mum. This meant the physiotherapy exercises were appropriate, relevant (walking to the shop) and as a result probably easier to do. Their approach played a huge part in motivating my mum and helping her believe that she could get better, live independently and enjoy life again – all of which she is now doing. I am so grateful for your support – it was so timely - and I can’t imagine where we would have been without this service. At two weeks’ notice my active and independent 83-year-old mum who lives alone, underwent surgery for cancer followed by six-weeks in hospital including a week in intensive care. My Mum had a serious fall last year resulting in a fractured left hip, shoulder and a further fracture to the base of her spine. After spending nearly three months in hospital, she was discharged home with a care package to assist with daily routines and we had to make a few changes at home to facilitate this.Having been completely independent prior to this fall, not only was her mobility greatly reduced but her confidence was affected also. We engaged Nadia (The Mobile Physio) to help Mum with her recovery and ability to be more independent and mobile again. It has proven to be the best decision we could have made, as Nadia and her team have encouraged Mum from the outset with what she can achieve and have succeeded in getting Mum to gradually improve her ability to stand and walk with assistance. It is an ongoing process but we can see so much improvement as each week passes. Nadia's expertise has been invaluable, not only from a physical point of view, but also mentally. The encouragement given to Mum in overcoming her fear of falling again has also contributed greatly to her recovery. Nadia and her team go far and beyond their call of duty and maintain a high level of care and professionalism which we cannot thank them enough for.The support given to both Mum and myself has been exceptional and we, therefore, would have no doubts whatsoever in recommending Nadia to anyone else.

A while ago I had the experience of working with Nadia. She was my physio following my having a bout of pneumonia resulting in 5 weeks in hospital. This was very debilitating requiring support to build up my stamina. Hence Nadia came to my aid after high recommendation.
Right from the beginning of my treatment I found Nadia very empathic. She listened attentively but was able to pick up what was not being said which is so important. I felt she was able to encourage me to work at my own pace providing considerable physiotherapy skills which allowed me to build up stamina. Nadia provided relevant exercises progressing to walks outside which had been a problem I had experienced. This gave me confidence to get on with my life something I had found too difficult to contemplate. This progress opened up my life again and made me feel I was more normal. We were able to communicate well which is so important and I enjoyed her company. I wish her well in the future whatever she aspires to plan.
